The Cherokee Nation recently awarded Braggs Schools with a Motor Vehicle Tax STEM Grant in the amount of $19,125 for programs serving students in 6th-12th grade. Principal Lisa Ward wrote the grant and titled her project “Thriving Through Technology.” Mrs. Ward states the grant budget will cover technology purchases to start an e-Sports (competitive gaming) program, enhance our art program with electronic art and digital drawing tablets, enhance our music program by adding sound engineering and broadcast media, and add STEM kits to our science and math classes. Mrs Ward hopes that these new enhancements and course offerings will attract more students to our district. Grant items will be purchased in the coming weeks, and the teachers and students can start putting them to use. We want to send a special shout out to the Cherokee Nation for this generous contribution.
